Torrevieja will bring its carnival to Expofiesta 2026

The Torrevieja City Council, through its Department of Tourism, will participate in EXPOFIESTA 2026, which will be held from Friday, November 6th to Sunday, November 8th at the Alicante Trade Fair Centre (IFA). The City Council's presence at the fair will allow it to showcase Torrevieja's main festivals and traditions and their role in the city's tourism offerings.

The carnival troupes will attend IFA on Saturday.

On Saturday, November 7th, a group of carnival troupes will travel to IFA Alicante to showcase the Torrevieja Carnival. Their presence will bring one of the city's most iconic celebrations closer to the public, presented by the groups that participate in and help keep it alive year after year.

Carnival is also a testament to the involvement of local groups in the Torrevieja festivities. The work of the carnival groups, reflected in their costumes and parades, is an integral part of the celebration's identity. Their participation in the fair will showcase this work and introduce the festival to those unfamiliar with it.

To facilitate the travel of the Carnival group, the City Council has arranged a 55-seat bus. Departure from Torrevieja is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 7th. The return bus will depart from the fairgrounds at 10:00 PM.

LOCAL FESTIVALS AS A TOURIST ATTRACTION

EXPOFIESTA is a meeting point for promoting various celebrations and festive events. In this context, the presence of Carnival will allow Torrevieja to showcase its full range of festive offerings and demonstrate how popular celebrations are an integral part of the city's cultural life. The fair provides Torrevieja with the opportunity to share its festive calendar with an audience interested in learning about the traditions of other municipalities.

Promoting local festivals offers visitors ideas for planning a stay around a celebration and exploring Torrevieja at different times of the year. For the Department of Tourism, publicizing these events is a way to broaden the reasons to visit the city and to link destination promotion with its distinctive customs and traditions.

Participation in EXPOFIESTA continues the municipality's tourism promotion efforts. The event is co-financed by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, within the framework of the collaboration agreement for the promotion of tourist attractions in Torrevieja.
