The Red Cross and Civil Protection have informed CECOPAL that a total of 23 homeless people (16 men and 7 women) were transferred last night to the "Tavi and Carmona" Sports Pavilion, where they are currently staying and are being cared for at all times by volunteers from Alimentos Solidarios.

The choice of Torrevieja as the location for the release of these turtles responds to the principle of philopatry, by which adult females return decades later to the same area where they were born to lay their eggs.
