Recovery of cultural heritage, sociocultural activation and tourism innovation to strengthen one of the historical and strategic enclaves of Torrevieja.
Heritage, culture and innovation in a single strategy
Project 1 articulates three complementary operations that combine the recovery and enhancement of heritage, cultural participation and the use of technology to improve knowledge and management of the destination.
Las Eras de la Sal and its surroundings are configured as a core of economic, cultural and heritage activation within the Integrated Action Plan of Torrevieja.
01 Regeneration of the Sea and Salt Museum and its surroundings
Operation P1.O1 includes the regeneration of the Sea and Salt Museum, the organization of the spaces necessary to develop its museum program and the urbanization of the Paseo de la Sal.
The project also incorporates the Saltworks Administration House and the Caballete, integrating heritage restoration with the improvement of public space and providing the whole with the necessary conditions of habitability, accessibility, safety and functionality for its commissioning.

ERDF co-financing
Operation P1.O1 · Regeneration of the Sea and Salt Museum and its surroundings is part of the Integrated Action Plan and is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the POPE ERDF Spain 2021-2027.
02 Sociocultural revitalization program
Operation P1.O2 uses culture as a tool for connection, participation and social transformation, strengthening the links between the neighborhoods of El Acequión and San Roque and the whole of Torrevieja.
The program will be developed collaboratively with cultural agents, associations, neighborhood groups, and citizens. It includes mapping the cultural ecosystem, co-designing a Cultural Narrative for Torrevieja, co-creation workshops, technical support for organizations, and recommendations for the development of future municipal cultural policies.

ERDF co-financing
The Sociocultural Revitalization Program P1.O2 is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the POPE ERDF Spain 2021-2027.
03 Smart Tourism Diversification Platform
Operation P1.O3 promotes a new municipal technological infrastructure aimed at improving knowledge of the city and facilitating data-driven decision-making, advancing the transformation of Torrevieja as a Smart Tourist Destination.
The platform will allow for the collection, integration, storage, management, and analysis of urban, tourism, environmental, and socioeconomic information. The project includes new sensor equipment, integration with municipal systems, use cases, analytical tools, dashboards, and a Citizen Portal to provide useful information to residents, visitors, businesses, and other stakeholders in the tourism ecosystem.

The Smart Tourism Diversification Platform P1.O3 is part of the PAI «Torrevieja Integrada» and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the period 2021-2027.
