On November 27, 2023, the Regulations of the Municipal Council for People with Disabilities of the Torrevieja City Council were definitively approved. This amendment is proposed after having been initially approved by the City Council Plenary in a session held on August 28, 2023, and after no objections were raised.

In the present case, the proposed amendment to the Regulations of the Municipal Council for People with Functional Diversity of the Torrevieja City Council primarily affects the composition of the Sectoral Council for People with Functional Diversity of the Torrevieja City Council, as a result of the reorganization of the councillorships that took place after the last constitution of the corporation, since the councillorship for attention to functional diversity was created, and it has been verified that said amendment complies with the Organic Regulations of Citizen Participation referred to above.

Regarding the purpose of the amendment to the Municipal Council for People with Disabilities Regulations, it seeks to create a Municipal Council for People with Disabilities, comprised of individuals whose professional field is related to people with disabilities. The launch of this citizen participation body consolidates Torrevieja City Council's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, which advocate for a sustainable, equal, and participatory city.
