The Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, reports that the City Council of Torrevieja has approved this morning in the Informative Commission, the delegation of powers to the Generalitat Valenciana of 4 of the 15 actions planned in the EDIFICANT PROGRAM. These important actions, which represent an investment amounting to a total of 12,110,652 euros, will be developed at IES Libertas, IES Las Lagunas, IES Torrevigía and Colegio Público Virgen del Carmen.

The four works have the approval of the General Directorate of Infrastructures of the Generalitat, as announced publicly by its General Director, Víctor García, in one of his recent visits to the city of Torrevieja.

The interventions to be carried out are a priority for various reasons:

The most important of all, the action in the IES LAS LAGUNAS, with an investment of close to 7 million euros, will allow for a comprehensive remodeling of the entire center, thus addressing the various infrastructure problems that the center has had for years.

In the IES LIBERTAS, with an investment close to 2.5 million euros, its structural problems will be solved, as well as being able to face an extension of its classrooms to house and expand the training cycles available to the school.

The IES TORREVIGÍA, with an investment of almost one million euros, will allow the creation of a new classroom building to house its training cycles, as well as new secondary education classrooms that decongest the pressure of school places that the city has.

The last of the actions, at the CEIP VIRGEN DEL CARMEN, with an investment of close to one million euros, will involve the total change of the roof of the center, given the existence of fiber cement in it and the specific actions to repair its sports courts and playground for children's education.

Finally, Ricardo Recuero affirms that these first four projects are the beginning of the requests made by the Torrevieja City Council, of the 15 that have been sent in the first instance to the Ministry of Education of the Generalitat.
