Torrevieja makes a first shipment of 4,000 kilos of humanitarian aid for Ukraine

The first two trucks with humanitarian material destined for Ukraine, the result of the solidarity of the residents of Torrevieja, have already been transferred to the Logistics Center that both the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the Generalitat Valenciana have opened in the warehouses of the City of Light in Alicante

In total there have been around 4,000 kilograms of material that has been donated and delivered to the local municipality coordinated by the Department of NGOs and Volunteers and the Association of Ukrainians of Torrevieja, together with components of 22 local NGOs. The responsible mayor, Concha Sala, has personally accompanied this first shipment that has been made in vehicles that the local company, Tabisam, has altruistically donated. Canned food, medicines and medical supplies in general, children's products, toiletries, and warm clothing, among other things, have been part of this first shipment of donations received. The Department of NGOs and Volunteers has announced that, according to indications from the Logistics Center for Humanitarian Aid in Alicante, donations of clothing will not be accepted from now on, except for thermal clothing, blankets and quilts. The opening hours of the humanitarian aid collection point for Ukraine at the municipal premises located at Calle Clemente Gosálvez, nº 24 (low), are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. , from Monday to Saturday.
