The Councilor for Education of the City Council of Torrevieja, Ricardo Recuero, accompanied by the mayor of the Treasury, Domingo Paredes, offered a press conference this morning to announce that this week, once the bases have been published in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), the deadline for submitting applications for municipal aid for school transport will be opened, and it will remain open for 20 business days from the day following the publication of the call.

Applications may be submitted through the Electronic Office or in person at the Municipal Registry (PROP).

Ricardo Recuero explained that students in Second Cycle Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Initial Professional Qualification Programs, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, enrolled in schools or public institutes of the city of Torrevieja, who are accredited users of the school transport service and have been forced to pay for transport to travel to their public school or institute.

The beneficiaries must be registered and reside in the municipality of Torrevieja, both the student and the parents or legal representatives, at least two years before making the request and during the entire 2021/2022 school year.

The maximum individual amount of the aid will be 60 euros per month for those students who use school transport 2 daily trips, for a maximum period of 10 months, between September 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022. In In no case may the amount of the aid exceed the amount of the expenses justified by the applicants/beneficiaries.

These aids, adds the mayor of Education, will be processed in a competitive concurrence regime, respecting the principles of equality, objectivity, transparency and publicity. They will be granted based on the economic level of the student's family, calculating the per capita income of the family unit, that is, the family income divided by the number of computable members of the family unit; and also taking into account the particularities of the family unit.

The maximum income of the total family unit to be entitled to the subsidy will be 65,000 euros gross in the 2020 financial year, setting the amount of the aid based on the economic level, taking into account the per capita income of each of the members. of the family unit.

The budget allocation of the Torrevieja City Council for School Transport Aid is 100,000 euros, expandable to the demand that exists.
