This coming Thursday, July 21, at 6:00 p.m., in the Vista Alegre Exhibition Hall, the Professor of Ancient History at the University of Alicante, Jaime Molina Vidal, will offer the talk "Virtual Heritage: going back to the past by recreating the History".

In this talk, organized by the University Venue of Torrevieja of the UA, a brief tour of the dissemination and socialization possibilities of the knowledge of digital resources (ICT and NT) will be offered. From various examples we will see what products, services and virtual environments are currently being created in national and international spheres, although equally applicable to nearby, local or regional museums, exhibitions and interpretation centers: Virtual Reconstruction and Recreation, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality , Informative vinyls, reconstructive panels, digital Escape Rooms, Immersive Short Films, virtual replicas and 3D prints, etc.

Virtual Heritage is a research group of the University of Alicante directed by Dr. Jaime Molina, which offers the Master of international reference in this matter and accumulates a great experience in the development of multiple national and international contracts (Art. 83) (Modeling 3D, Virtual Reconstruction and Recreation, Augmented Reality Applications and Virtual Reality). Similarly, the Virtual Heritage group is part of the team of three international Erasmus+ projects for the development of digital technologies applied to the Humanities and Virtual Archeology (Digital Humanist, CUDIMHA, Digital Womanist).

JAIME MOLINA VIDAL

Degree in Philosophy and Letters- History and Doctor in History from the University of Alicante. He develops his postdoctoral studies at the Università degli Studi di Perugia (Umbria-Italy) during the years 1996-1998. Professor at the UA University since 2001 and professor at the UA University of Ancient History since 2017. Throughout his career, he has developed different lines of research linked to R&D&I projects, among which Roman trade stands out (Roman economic theory, transport amphoric, quantitative analysis, etc.), Roman agriculture (rural settlement, villas, Roman farms), historiography (systems theory, historiographic currents, historical constructions). He has been director of the department of Prehistory, Ancient History, Greek Philosophy and Latin Philosophy (2005-13), director of the program of different doctoral programs (2005-17). He has directed various national (Ilici, Villa Romana Albir, Portus Ilicitanus, etc.) and international (Villa de Rufio, PG-Italy) archaeological excavations.
