Presented the Torrevieja Half Marathon 2023 to be held on February 26, 2023

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the Councilor for Sports, Diana Box, the president of the Torrevieja Athletics Club, José Manuel Pizana, and Luis Manuel Corchete, Olympic athlete and organizer of the event, presented this morning the 35th Torrevieja Half Marathon, which recovers its traditional date of celebration, on February 26, 2023.

Today registrations have been opened to participate in this historic athletics event in Torrevieja, through the mediamaratontorrevieja.es website. The price is 15 euros for the half marathon and 10 euros for the 5 kilometers (5k). The registration period will remain open until February 23, 2023.

The categories for the half marathon will be from Sub20 (+18 years) to Master 75 (+75 years), while for the 5k race it will be from Sub16 (+14 years) to Master 75 (+75). A novelty in this 35th edition will be the four special Inclusion categories: runners with physical disabilities in wheelchairs, runners with sensory disabilities (auditory and visual), runners with physical disabilities and runners with intellectual disabilities.

The test circuit is approved and is part of the national calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. Throughout the route there will be a great deployment with health care to attend to any incident and a field hospital will be installed at the finish line. In addition to Local Police and Civil Protection personnel, some 200 volunteers are expected, who will be distributed throughout the test route.

Finally, the organization expects the participation of some 1,200/1,400 runners in this next edition in 2023.
