The Councilor for Education of the Torrevieja City Council, Ricardo Recuero, has released today the data for the start of the 2022/2023 school year, which will begin next Monday, September 12, with a total of 12,678 students/ as in Infant and Primary, ESO, FP, Baccalaureate and cycles, which represents an increase of more than 2,000 students compared to the previous year 2021/2022, which was 10,662.

-Infant student body: 2,026 students, 90 units

-Primary students; 4,816 students, 193 units

-Secondary Students: 3,710 students, 124 units

-Baccalaureate and Vocational Training: 1,733 students, 36 units.

The number of students in Primary from March to July amounted to 1,142 students (of which 624 were Ukrainian boys and girls), in addition to 262 from August to September. Likewise, the student body that occurred in Secondary School was 131 students from July to September 2022.

The number of teachers who will start this school year amounts to 11,000.

Local non-school days will be October 31 and December 5, 2022 and February 20, 2023.

PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR

The Councilor for Education has reported that this course will continue with the projects and programs that were implemented in the previous one, among which are the programs for detection, prevention and monitoring of school absenteeism and bullying, whose objective is to lower the absenteeism rates in our town.

The School Bullying program is also implemented: prevention, detection and accompaniment in possible cases of school bullying.

The SCHOOL IN THE SEA program, in which 4th grade students will receive water sports classes (sailing, rowing, paddle surfing, etc.) at the city's maritime facilities. Likewise, in collaboration with Proyecto Mastral, WEATHER IN SCHOOL will be launched, through which classes and activities in meteorology, astronomy, sustainable development will be implemented, and students will have the opportunity to observe at night the stars, planets, etc

Ricardo I remember has also announced that, through the agreement with AGAMED, students will be able to carry out for the second consecutive year with activities framed in the 2030 Agenda through sustainable management projects. The TORREVIEJA TALKS project will also be developed, training for families and teachers, with highly experienced speakers and a variety of topics of interest.

The Department of Education will also continue to develop the program TORREVIEJA, CITY OF GIRLS AND CHILDREN, continuing with the activities of the Children's Council and the proposals for municipal management.

Finally, Awards for Academic Excellence will be awarded at an awards ceremony on October 14.
