The municipal campaign against bullying and school absenteeism is underway

The Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, presented yesterday the municipal campaign against Harassment and School Absenteeism. The councilman was accompanied during the presentation, Abel Moya, director of the IES Mare Nostrum; Nalian Cantero, director of the campaign, and Gloria García, social worker from the Department of Education.

The objective of this campaign is to raise awareness and prevent, on the one hand, bullying, a problem that is present in educational centers and outside them through social networks, as well as to emphasize the importance of attending class to avoid school absenteeism.

Ricardo Recuero has reported that, since last year, the council launched a project to reduce school absenteeism in educational centers in Torrevieja, as well as a project to intervene, prevent and accompany possible cases of bullying in schools and IES of the town, two projects that have been very successful in their application and that, at the moment, two multi-year contracts are being processed in order to continue with this ambitious project.

The campaign consists of three phases, the first is made up of videos whose story highlights the importance of denormalizing situations that occur in the classroom, as well as the importance of not missing anything from school, attending class. The second phase is made up of a series of infographics and messages to learn how to act when faced with signs of bullying. And finally, the third phase is aimed at students with informative messages about the inappropriate use of social networks.
