The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the councilor for Citizen Participation, Inmaculada Montesinos, have held a working meeting that has taken place this morning at the Tourism Office with the area delegates. In this meeting, new delegates have been appointed to whom the work method has been explained and they have been given the corresponding accreditation.

In the words of the mayor "this figure opens a direct relationship with citizens and neighbors that allows the government team to know almost immediately the situations that arise in our municipality."

The area delegates are residents of Torrevieja who, due to personal, work or professional residence, have knowledge of and links with the assigned area. There are a total of 42 delegates who will be in charge of the 21 zones in which the municipality of Torrevieja has been divided. These citizens are in direct relationship with the Citizen Participation area to channel needs, incidents and all those situations that arise in the different areas of the town in order to act as immediately as possible.

Eduardo Dolón has highlighted that one of the main objectives of the delegates is that they arrive as soon as possible to any incident or situation that occurs in the municipality and be able to inform them in order to attend to them in the fastest, most agile and effective way possible.

Eduardo Dolón wanted to thank the area delegates for their tireless work and collaboration since they were appointed in 2019, "especially in the hardest months of the pandemic where they were helping the residents of their neighborhood".
