This coming Wednesday, December 14, starting at 5:30 p.m., hundreds of Torrevejenses of different nationalities, mainly of British and Scandinavian origin, will meet at the twentieth edition of the Christmas Carols in English Concert, called Carols in the Square , organized by the Department of International Residents of the Torrevieja City Council since 2002.
The concert will be held this year, as in 2021, on the stage of the Plaza de la Constitución and will be attended by the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the deputy mayor of the City Council, Rosario Martínez, the councilor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, as well as a good part of the Government team.
The music for the concert will be provided by the Royal British Legion Band , directed by David Last and made up mainly of retired British musicians residing in Torrevieja, which will be accompanied by the Crescendo choir and the participation of singer Shani Ormiston.
Once again, the Plaza de la Constitución is expected to be too small to gather hundreds of international residents, many of them dressed in the typical Santa Claus costume, who every year around this time participate in this original Carols in the Square, in in which typical songs from their countries of origin are also sung.
