The landscaping and management works of Parque La Siesta begin, with a budget of 4.2 million euros

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the councilor for Parks and Gardens, Antonio Vidal, and the councilor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, accompanied by the managers of the winning company URDECON, Enrique Fernández and the construction manager, Eva Fernández, have Presented this morning the landscaping and management works of La Siesta Park, which has been attended by numerous residents of this area, mainly international residents from the United Kingdom, Belgium and France.

Today, Monday, January 23, the execution works of this municipal park (located between Henri Matisse, Ravel and Guridi streets) have begun, paralyzed for several years, which will become one of the most important and complete in the city of Torrevieja, since it has a total area of 44,000 square meters, with an investment of 4.2 million euros, and which will generate a large multi-sport area for the enjoyment of citizens. It should be noted that all this large municipal park will be fenced around the perimeter.

The execution period for the works is 20 months, although the City Council has asked the winning company to reduce it, assuring the company URDECON that this large municipal park can be completed in less than half the time established in the contract.

The mayor, Eduardo Dolón, has declared that we are facing a very important day for Torrevieja as it deals with the execution of a park in high demand by the residents of La Siesta and San Luis, which will bring together a large multitude of sports courts, in addition to green and landscaped areas, as well as a large Pump Track for skateboards and BMX bikes, much in demand by the youngest, which will have three well-differentiated areas: Advanced Pump Track, Medium Level Pump Track and Children's Pump Track. In addition, the redistribution of spaces stands out both for carrying out sports activities and for the enjoyment of walks for individuals and families who want to spend the day in the middle of nature, counting the park with picnic areas for recreation and rest, as well as an amphitheater with steps for various performances.

In addition to the three Pump Track areas, La Siesta Park will have an Agility for large dogs and another for small dogs, a large central area that divides the park with two circular squares, skating circuits, children's games, bio-healthy areas, skating rink, hockey, football, basketball and futsal rink, petanque courts, calisthenics area, bike lane, as well as three paddle tennis courts, so this park will become the first in Torrevieja to have tracks to enjoy this fashionable sport.
