Inaugurated the XXV Edition of the Torrevieja Book Fair, with a large influx of public

At noon today, Saturday, April 1, the twenty-fifth Torrevieja Book Fair has been inaugurated on Paseo Vista Alegre, with the assistance of the mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolón, the Councilor for Culture, Antonio Quesada, and a guest special, the writer Santiago Posteguillo, winner of the 2018 Planeta Award for his novel “Yo, Julia”.

After visiting the participating booths, the mayor declared the fair inaugurated and congratulated the Councilor for Culture and his entire team for having consolidated a fair that has already become an unavoidable event in the first of the cultural programming of the Municipal Institute of Culture "Joaquin Chaparieta".

In front of a packed municipal tent full of people, Santiago Posteguillo has offered an excellent and didactic conference in which he has lectured on the importance of culture and, especially, of literature, which, for Posteguillo to "entertain" and have a "historical rigor", especially in the theme that he deals with in his novels, the historical novel. After his speech, he has signed copies of his new novel "Roma is me" to more than a hundred readers who have come to this inauguration of the Torrevieja Book Fair. The mayor has given him a typical boat of curdled salt in our salt lake, as well as the Torrevejense Dictionary, the latest book published by the Municipal Institute of Culture.

The Fair will remain open to the public from today, Saturday, April 1 to Sunday, April 9, from Monday to Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and from Thursday to Sunday from 10 :30 to 2:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

A total of 8 bookstore booths (Buendía Bookstore, Alas de Papel Writers Association, The Thousand and One Books, Torrevieja Stationery, Trini Bookstore, Santos Ochoa Bookstore, Baigorri Bookstore and Rivendell Bookstore) have been installed on Paseo Vista Alegre, in addition of a tent next to the monument to the Coralista, in which the activities programmed in this Book Fair will take place. All those people who make purchases at the fair will enter the draw for a lot of books. Throughout the Book Fair they will sign their works up to a total of 22 authors.
