More than 30 songs, 25 artists on stage: 8 great voices, an extraordinary band of live musicians, a spectacular dance group, and all framed in an impressive and magnificent scenery.

On May 11, the first of the only five performances of the musical show Cruz de Navajas, el último Mecano , as a new cultural offer for the city, will take place at the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja.
This morning it was presented at a press conference in the ambigú of the Theater by the Councilor for Culture, Antonio Quesada, the director of Cultura Torrevieja, Lalo Díez, the producer and general manager of the company, John Varo, and the singer Mikel Herzog Jr., who at the end of the press conference performed one of the songs from the musical, the theme "Aire".
The show, seen by more than 300,000 people, and which has already passed through the cities of Zaragoza, Cuenca, Barcelona, Huelva and Salamanca among others, continues its tour throughout the Spanish territory, betting on Torrevieja on its journey for more than 20 cities planned in this 2023.
But what is Cruz de Navajas, the last Mecano? It is the greatest recognition to the largest Spanish group of our heritage.
Cruz de Navajas is a large format musical show, which also means the creation of a new genre within the musical show. A surprising and groundbreaking audiovisual format, where Mecano's great songs are heard and recreated, each one interpreted with original and amazing staging, thanks to advanced technology, and the most exquisite talent and sensitivity.

Cruz de Navajas also supposes the creation of a new genre within the musical spectacle, because, for the first time, a plot story is not used to unite each song, but each one of them is transformed into a particular universe and story. It is a unique show. A surprising and groundbreaking audiovisual format, where Mecano's great songs are heard and recreated, each one interpreted with original and amazing staging, thanks to advanced technology, and the most exquisite talent and sensitivity.
The scenery designed specifically for Cruz de Navajas is one of the fundamental elements of the show, not only because of the formidable visual impact it produces on the viewer, but also because of its importance as a complement to each number, and visibly accompanies each piece of music.
This is possible thanks to high resolution led screens. Part of the creation of Cruz de Navajas is the shooting of videos in 4 and 8k, which are projected on the screens to accompany some songs, and which could be worthy finalists in any short film festival. These screens, of more than 100m2, have the peculiarity of being transparent, which also allows them to play with the elements of the stage, showing, depending on the number, what is left in front of or behind them.
