After the summer, the rainwater evacuation works will begin on Bergantín street and Avenida de La Purísima

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the councilor for Quality of Urban Services and responsible for Rainwater, Sandra Sánchez, have held a meeting with property managers and residents of the communities of owners within the scope of the works that are going to to execute and that are framed in the network of evacuation of rainwater, to improve and favor the drainage of rainwater and, at the same time, eliminate the problems of flooding in the farms located in Calle Bergantín with Avenida de La Purísima.

Sandra Sánchez has reported that these works will consist of replacing the existing pipe on Avenida de La Purísima with another 1,000mm diameter pipe, for proper water evacuation. On the other hand, new collection scuppers are going to be created on Bergantín street, connected through 400mm diameter pipes to a 500mm diameter general collector.

IMPROVEMENT OF THE PEDESTRIAN ITINERARY AND ACCESSIBILITY

To complete this rainwater action, a section of sidewalk where the garages are located below ground level will be widened, thus improving the pedestrian itinerary and accessibility, while preventing rainwater from entering the ground. through the access ramps.

Likewise, the councilor for Quality of Urban Services has announced that the roads affected by these works will be completely resurfaced, with an approximate area of 3,245 square meters.

The works are expected to begin after the summer season so as not to disturb residents and tourists in this area, with the execution period of approximately 3 months. In a few dates the pertinent tastings will begin to be carried out for the beginning of the same. The works have an investment through AGAMED of 435,000 euros (VAT included).
