The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Federico Alarcón, the councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, the mayor of the Local Police, Alejandro Morer, the local police officer and teacher of the Road Safety Education courses, Antonio Alarcón, and the managing director of Akra-Señal, Salvador Girona, attended the reopening of the Torrevieja Children's Traffic Park this morning, which has been completely remodeled, with an investment of 110,000 euros, and which has been remained closed to the public since the beginning of the pandemic. Primary students from the Inmaculada public school participated in the reopening of the park.

Every year around 5,000 preschool and primary school students from schools in Torrevieja and other towns in Vega Baja pass through the Children's Traffic Park, which was inaugurated in 1996.

The action in the park has consisted of a comprehensive intervention to renew all elements of road equipment as well as the pavement, conditioning of both horizontal, vertical and traffic light signage, as well as its total resurfacing.

In addition, the curbs and islands have been repainted after resurfacing, new LED traffic lights have been installed, and new vertical signage made entirely of aluminum. Finally, a total of 10 pedal karts have been purchased for use in the Children's Park.

On the occasion of the European Mobility Week, during this week, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., there will be open days for all those who wish to visit it. Likewise, soon the driver's education courses will begin for Primary and Secondary students at all local schools.
