This coming Friday, December 15, starting at 6:00 p.m., hundreds of people from Torrevieja of different nationalities, mainly of British and Scandinavian origin, will gather at the twenty-first edition of the International Carols Concert, called Carols in the Square , organized by the Department of International Residents of the Torrevieja City Council since 2002.
The concert will be held on the stage of the Plaza de la Constitución and, as a novelty this year, the Instrumental Group of the “Francisco Casanovas” Professional Conservatory of Music will perform, and the Ensemble of the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra, who will be accompanied by the choir of Elementary Teachings of the “Francisco Casanovas” Conservatory of Torrevieja, the Crescendo Choir, the Skandinaviska Skolan Costa Blanca Choir, and with the participation of the Rociero Blanca y Verde Choir of the Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti” of Torrevieja and the group will close the evening Sette Vocci.
The concert will be attended by the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the vice mayor of the City Council, Rosario Martínez, the councilor for International Residents, Gitte Lund Thomsen, the councilor for Coexistence and Integration, Oscar Urtasun North, as well as a good part of the Government team.
Once again, it is expected that the Plaza de la Constitución will be too small to gather hundreds of international residents, many of them dressed in the typical Santa Claus costume, who every year around this time participate in this original Carols in the Square, in which also sing typical songs from their countries of origin.
