The Councilor for Culture of the Torrevieja City Council, Antonio Quesada, together with the president of the Francisco Vallejos Choir, José Miguel Ferrández, and the director of the Choir, Belén Puente, presented this morning the events scheduled to mark the 70th anniversary of the Francisco Vallejos Choir (1954-2024).

The events to commemorate this anniversary will begin this coming Sunday, April 21, at 12:00 p.m., at the Municipal Theater, with the celebration of an extraordinary concert that will bring together on stage the current members of the choir, as well as 50 former choralists of the group, some of them founders of it. The concert program will include works by maestro Francisco Vallejos such as zarzuelas, sacred music, polyphonic music with Latin rhythms and, of course, habaneras.

Likewise, during the last quarter of the year an exhibition will be organized in one of the municipal halls in which photographs and audiovisuals of the history of the choir will be exhibited. This exhibition will also move at the end of 2024 to the Casino Cultural Society of Torrevieja, where a concert will also be offered and we will be able to enjoy testimonies from former choralists.

Finally, a requiem ceremony will be held for all those members of the Francisco Vallejos Choir who are no longer among us.
