JORNADA SOBRE “DATOS E INTELIGENCIA ARTIFICIAL (IA) EN TURISMO” TORREVIEJA
Next Friday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m., the “Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Tourism” conference will be held at the CdT in Torrevieja, with the aim of raising awareness of the challenges posed by adequate data management and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques in the tourism field.

Experts in the field will participate in the event, such as Francisca Rubio, manager of GaiaX Spain; Josep Ivars, director of the IUIT of the UA; Rafael Muñoz secretary of CENID; and Enrique García, member of ADESTIC, and Marco A. Celdrán Bernabeu, technical coordinator of TI·LAB. In addition, a new activity will take place, called “data tasting” in tourism, where companies and entities will present a sample of the data they manage and their associated challenges.

Organized by the University of Alicante in collaboration with the Torrevieja City Council, this activity is part of the Intelligent Tourism University Laboratory (TI·LAB)” project of the University of Alicante Headquarters in Torrevieja, which arises under the agreement established between both institutions.

Various companies and entities collaborate in its realization, such as the CdT of Torrevieja, the University Institute of Computer Research (IUII), the University Institute of Tourism Research (IUIT), the Alicante Digital Intelligence Center (CENID), Cluster of Innovative Companies for the Tourism of the Valencian Community (ADESTIC), GaiaX, InferIA, AGAMED, Sensing Tools, Sien Consulting, 1millionbot, Salins and Cultura Torrevieja.

Data and AI have the potential to improve both tourism planning and management processes, as well as the visitor experience. In this regard, there are already numerous applications that allow digital tourists to obtain information through virtual assistants that offer personalized recommendations, allowing them to quickly and easily plan a trip.

Likewise, these applications also favor the generation of new data that can be analyzed and processed to improve different tourism management processes. In this sense, the European Union is launching a data strategy that promotes the creation of data spaces with the objective that companies and public institutions can share their data to solve problems and obtain a positive impact, both economically and social, while maintaining control of them, ensuring that the competitiveness of companies is not affected or privacy is violated.

Access to the event is completely free upon registration .
