The Mayor receives the Torrevieja rower Javier García, qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, at the town hall

The Torrevieja rower Javier García has been received in the Plenary Hall of the City Council by the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Councilor for Sports, Diana Box, and the deputy manager of AGAMED, Gemma Cruz, after having sealed the ticket for the Games Paris 2024 Paralympics by winning with authority in the continental classification regatta held in Szeged (Hungary).

Eduardo Dolón has congratulated the skiff player Javier García for his presence at the next Paralympic Games in Paris, and has recognized the great effort and work he has carried out to achieve this great sporting achievement. The mayor has been very proud that Javier García is the first rower from Torrevieja who is going to participate in the Paralympic Games, joining the gymnast Polina Berezina, who will also be representing Spain in the Paris Olympics.

For his part, García has thanked the support he has always had from the Sports Department of the Torrevieja City Council and AGAMED, as well as from local companies that sponsor him, ensuring that "thanks to the help of my people I have been able to achieve this important qualification for the Paris Paralympic Games.”

At the official reception he was presented with an image with several photographs of his participation in the regatta held in Hungary, where he obtained his pass to the Paris Paralympic Games.

From now on, the rower from Torrevieja begins his training to try to get an Olympic medal in the Games that will be held in August and September 2024.
