Comedian Jorge Cremades will kick off Carnival 2025

Once again, the Torrevieja Carnival will begin with a nationally renowned announcer, the Alicante comedian Jorge Cremades. The event will be this Friday, February 7, at 9:00 p.m., at the Municipal Theatre.

Cremades is one of the most influential creators on the current scene. More than 70 million people of all ages have already enjoyed his stories. His videos are viral phenomena that portray funny everyday situations lasting no more than 30 seconds. Brands and producers from all over the world have already shown interest in his close and direct sense of humour, with which he will return to Torrevieja to welcome one of the most vibrant celebrations in the city.

Later, at the same event, the self-produced documentary video “Carnaval de Torrevieja 2024: La Película” will be premiered, where the enormous magnitude of this festival will be shown, showing not only the most visible image of its events, but also through interviews and images of the ins and outs of the carnival, to make the public aware of the enormous involvement of citizens in the development and participation in each and every one of its events.

In short, it will be a very fun and lively gala, where the public is encouraged to come dressed up, since it is carnival, this time under the theme entitled "Once upon a time" where stories will take center stage and the public will come dressed up as their favorite characters.

Coronation Gala

On Saturday, February 8, in a double session –one of them sold out–, we will have the most serious and relevant Gala of the Carnival. At this event, the highest recognition of the entity will be awarded to a person who has been a key player and has had a very important role in the history of the Carnival.

On this occasion, the Golden Shield of Carnival 2025 has been awarded to the figure of Concepción Mercader Valdés, “Conchita Valdés”, founder of Sal de Torrevieja and ambassador of the Torrevieja Carnival wherever she and the members of her comparsa have participated. A life dedicated to the carnival, a Torrevieja native who loves the carnival, but above all, her city Torrevieja.

Next, it will be time to reveal the fantasies and creations of the kings of this year 2025 and their coronation. These incredible stagings will be preceded by the emotional farewells of the outgoing kings of the year 2024.

This year, the Carnival crowns belong to Lucía Martínez as Children's Queen, from the Osadía comparsa; as Carnival King, Pablo Hernández, representing the Jolgorio comparsa; and, as Adult Queen, Mireya Ferrández from the Paya's comparsa, who will put on an incredible show to show off their fantasies.

There will be two sessions, at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., but the entire Carnival family has already turned out and the first session has already sold out, leaving only a few for the second session. Tickets can be purchased at the Theatre box office or on the website www.culturatorrevieja.com .
