While it was raining outside, inside the Torrevieja Natural History Museum last Sunday, March 2, there was an educational visit followed by biodiversity games and various workshops. During the first two weeks of opening, until Sunday, March 16, the workshop “See how a plant is born” will be held for the little ones, and the workshop “DNA Extraction” for the older ones, on the occasion of the International Day of Nature, which was celebrated yesterday, March 3. This reopening is carried out with the collaboration of the departments of Culture, Education and Tourism of the Torrevieja City Council.
At the end, the children receive diplomas as “Defenders of Nature” after demonstrating, through these games, their knowledge of nature, its biodiversity and the measures necessary for its protection.
Visits and activities are carried out in groups of up to 30 people/group. On Wednesdays and Fridays, visits are made by between one and three groups each morning, adapting the visiting hours to the needs of each educational centre. On Sundays and public holidays, the museum is open from 10:00 to 13:00 for independent visits, and at 11:00 a.m. there is a guided tour and activities for families and the general public.
