Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 13, the application period for municipal aid for senior citizens opens.

Each beneficiary of the aid will be able to collect a maximum of 400 euros, with the City Council having a budget of 400,000 euros allocated for this purpose.

Torrevieja City Councilor for Senior Citizens, Inmaculada Montesinos, announces that applications for aid for the elderly (single-payment aid for vulnerable groups due to age and limited financial resources) will be open from Tuesday, May 13th, until Monday, June 9th. Each beneficiary will be eligible for a maximum of €400, including a municipal budget allocation of €399,600.

Grant applications can be submitted to the Torrevieja City Council's General Registry or online through the website. Inmaculada Montesinos announces that the City Council will be opening a special service during the application period for applicants who wish to obtain all the information and documentation at the San Pascual Senior Citizens' Home, No. 117, Monday through Friday, until the last day of the application period, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Councilor for Senior Citizens recalls that this municipal call aims to grant aid to senior citizens and pensioners with incomes no higher than 1.5% of the Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income (IPREM), in order to cover the loss of purchasing power, as well as generate a better quality of life for this group and complete the municipal policy of caring for the elderly. REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THIS MUNICIPAL AID

-Be a recipient of a retirement, widow's, or orphan's pension and over 60 years of age at the time of application; or be over 60 years of age and legally separated or divorced and receiving a compensatory pension, thus lacking any other income.

-Be listed in the Municipal Register of Residents and have been registered there for at least two uninterrupted years immediately prior to the date of submission of the application.

-The applicant must not receive an income greater than 1.5 times the Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income (IPREM) in force in 2024 (in 12 or 14 monthly payments).

In addition to income from your pension, other income from work, interest on capital assets, or similar assets that are compatible with receiving a pension will be included. However, if your income or earnings are not more than 1.5 times the IPREM (Spanish Income Tax Rate) and you live with family members, the requirement will only be met if the combined annual income or earnings of all members of your household are less than this amount.

An economic cohabitation unit is understood to be one in which the applicant lives with other persons who are related by marriage or by blood or adoption ties up to the second degree, that is, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, and siblings of the applicant.

-Have a maximum of one primary residence and one parking space or storage room. Both urban or rural real estate held in full ownership and those held in usufruct or bare ownership will be included.

-Be up to date with your obligations to the Tax Agency (AEAT), Social Security, and the tax obligations of this City Council.

-Not be in debt due to a ruling on the eligibility for reimbursement of subsidies. Only one applicant will be granted subsidies within each single cohabitation agreement.
