Torrevieja hosts the penultimate round of the Valencian Community Beach Handball League this weekend.

The Councilor for Sports of the Torrevieja City Council, Diana Box Alonso, the Head of Projects of the Valencian Community Handball Federation, Miguel Soria, and the head of the executive team of the Rayito Salinero Beach Handball Club, Irene Mercader, have presented the program for the penultimate round of the Valencian Community Beach Handball League, which will be held this Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, at Los Náufragos beach in Torrevieja.
The winner of the tournament will participate in the Arena 1000 Championship in Cádiz (National Circuit).
More than 700 handball players from 61 teams (men's and women's) will participate in this Valencian Community League, from the under-12s to the senior categories. Beach handball matches will run from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. According to the Project Manager of the Valencian Community Handball Federation, this sporting event will generate an economic impact in the city of Torrevieja this weekend of more than €100,000.
Finally, it's worth noting that the Torrevieja-based Rayito Salinero team is one of the favorites to win in several categories, having previously been regional and Spanish champions of beach handball, a sport that is increasingly popular in our country.
The Valencian Community Beach Handball League is being played in four coastal towns:
-El Arenal Beach (Xàbia). May 17 and 18
-Fora del Forat Beach (Vinaroz). May 24 and 25.
-Los Náufragos Beach (Torrevieja). May 31st and June 1st.
-Playa del Rey (Mareny de Barraques). June 7 and 8.
