EARLY LOAN AMORTIZATION
Along with the provision of new spaces, the credit modification includes a specific budget allocation to repay early the investment loan formalized in 2024 with Banco Sabadell.
This amortization will reduce the City Council's debt level and represent a significant saving in interest payable, as only the interest accrued up to the cancellation date will be paid. It will be financed entirely with cash surpluses for general expenses.
FINANCING OF THE BUDGET MODIFICATION
The Councilor for Economy and Finance stated that this modification does not imply an increase in overall spending, as it has been financed through reductions in other budgetary allocations. First, by eliminating credits corresponding to amortized positions in RPT 5/2024 and 1/2025; and second, by reducing the credit initially planned for the payment of interest on the loan to be amortized, thus adjusting spending to the new financial reality following its early repayment.
Finally, Domingo Paredes emphasized that this modification reflects responsible financial management, as it allows for the consolidation of structural spending with a significant improvement in staffing, while also reducing the financial burden of municipal debt.
