The JGL approves the contract for drafting the execution project and for the construction management of the Virgen del Carmen Primary School.

At the Local Government Board (LGB) of Torrevieja City Council held last Friday, May 30, the contract for drafting the basic and execution project, as well as for construction management, was approved for the Virgen del Carmen Primary School, located on Tabarca Street, s/n, in Torrevieja. This project is part of the Edificant Plan, under which the Ministry of Education has delegated the execution of improvements to public schools to the city council.

The Councillor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, reports that the project, awarded to the UTE OWNplan – JARS, for an amount of 81,500 euros and a deadline established for the drafting of the project of 2 months, includes a comprehensive intervention in the centre, with actions aimed at improving the conditions of security, accessibility,
functionality and energy efficiency of the building. Highlights include the renovation of the sports courts, the adaptation of the children's playground with new safety paving and shaded areas, the repair of structural cracks, the replacement of roofs with fiber cement, and the restoration of overhangs and eaves.

Ricardo Recuero adds that the Department of Education reaffirms its commitment to improving Torrevieja's educational infrastructure, ensuring safe and adequate spaces for the school community. This project is another step in the modernization of CEIP Virgen del Carmen, with the goal of offering its students and teachers an optimal environment for educational development.
