The T'avalem "Barco de Sal" program, a training and employment program for young people in Torrevieja, concludes.

This project has offered a complete training and employment experience to young people under 30 for 12 months, combining paid work with certified training in the administrative field.

The Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of Employment, Local Development and Entrepreneurship, has closed this morning the mixed employment-training program T ' avalemBarco de Sal , an initiative co-financed by the European Social Fund within the framework of the T' avalem program of the Generalitat Valenciana, promoted by LABORA Servei Valencià d'Ocupació i Formació.

For 12 months, this project offered a comprehensive training and employment experience to young people under 30, combining paid work with certified training in administrative skills.

Councillor Domingo Paredes stressed thatprograms like T'avalem demonstrate that governments can and should invest in young people. We provide them not only with training and work experience, but also motivation , guidance, and a real opportunity to improve their professional future. Torrevieja remains committed to youth employment and building a stronger social fabric .

The project, which began on June 10, 2024, involved 10 young people , a teacher, and a principal. The student workers earned two professional certificates in the administrative area:

- Auxiliary operations of administrative and general services

- Administrative activities in customer relations

In addition, they have received additional training in key subjects such as occupational risk prevention, gender equality , job placement , non-discrimination and environmental impact .

The structure of the program has combined theory and practice: in the mornings, participants have carried out internships in different municipal offices, and in the afternoons they have attended theoretical classes at the Youth Information and Animation Center (CIAJ) .

Throughout the year, numerous training activities, visits, and complementary workshops were carried out. These include:

-Visit to the Provincial Historical Archive of Alicante to learn about the archiving and document preservation system.

-Participation in theYoung Talent Job Fair at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center.

-Collaboration in activities for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, with an information stand in Constitution Square.

-Visit to the Torrevieja Municipal Library, where they learned about the complete document management cycle.

-Learn about artisanal printing during a visit to the Torrevieja Printing House on Bazán Street.

A closer look at the operation of a service company during a visit to AGAMED , where they were able to observe firsthand customer service, billing, and administrative operations.

Domingo Paredes expressed his gratitude to the entire teaching team, the municipal staff involved, and, especially, the students:They have demonstrated commitment, attitude, and a desire to learn. The City Council will continue working to expand these types of opportunities and facilitate access to the labor market through useful, high-quality training .

The T'avalem program is part of the mixed employment projects promoted by LABORA and aims to improve the employability of young people through training and apprenticeship contracts, boosting local economic development and fostering social and professional integration.
