The plenary session approves the multi-year expenditure to rehabilitate the Ice Factory as the new municipal headquarters.

This morning, the Torrevieja City Council approved the annual payment system for the contracting process for the renovation of the Ice Factory and its annex building, with a total budget of €7,176,503, to be carried out between 2025 and 2027.
The Councilor for Finance and Heritage, Domingo Paredes, defended the proposal in the plenary session, emphasizing that "this project is a further step in the recovery of municipal heritage with a useful, modern, and necessary project for the people of Torrevieja." The new building will have customer service areas, offices, multipurpose rooms, and
common spaces, all adapted to accessibility and sustainability criteria.
The investment is distributed over three annual installments: €1.59 million in 2025, €4.78 million in 2026, and €797,000 in 2027. This expenditure is fully justified and compatible with the principles of budgetary stability and the current Economic and Financial Plan.
In this way, the economic allocation is adjusted to the reality that will be executed in the annuities.
"We have sufficient funding to undertake this year's annual budget, and the project is aligned with our city model: more efficient, closer, and better prepared for the future," Paredes concluded.
