The Torrevieja City Council has approved in the Local Government Board the administrative and technical clauses that regulate the agreement of a long-term debt operation for an amount of 32,670,566.91 euros , included in the municipal budget for 2025. This operation, of a financial nature and subject to the principle of prudence established by the Treasury , will serve to finance investments that will allow the transformation of different key areas of the city.

The Councillor for Economy and Finance, Domingo Paredes, explained that " this credit operation , designed with criteria of responsibility and solvency, is essential to execute the main investment projects included in the approved budget and which respond directly to the commitments made to our residents in our electoral programme ."

The loan will have a 12 -year term , with a two- year initial grace period , and will be structured under a gradual disbursement system, allowing the City Council to request funds according to its treasury needs , without generating unnecessary costs. Furthermore , early repayment will be guaranteed without penalty, reinforcing the flexibility and prudence of the operation .

Domingo Paredes emphasized that " all the conditions included in this procedure comply with the principle of financial prudence. This rigor ensures that municipal debt is sustainable and proportional to the planned investment effort ."

Among the projects that will be financed with this operation are:

-The reorganization of the areas adjacent to the port ( 4.9 million )

-The remodeling of the Salt Eras and the old Ice Factory ( 2.34 million )

-Repaving and repair of the Levante Dike ( 2.4 million )

-The complete renovation of the La Plasa building ( 4.5 million )

-The renovation of public lighting , the redevelopment of pedestrian spaces , and the improvement of urban accessibility. The construction of the Alzheimer's Center , the redevelopment of the Punta de la Víbora green zone , and new facilities for the Local Police.

This line of investment is part of the budget approved for 2025, which amounts to 168.5 million euros, and whose execution has been structured on the basis of six fundamental axes: the reinforcement of public services , sustainability, tax relief, housing, employment and investment as a driver of social cohesion and economic revitalization .

" The credit operation we are launching today is not only legally sound and financially prudent, but is, above all, a tool at the service of residents to launch the projects we have been planning for months and that will shape the future of our city , " concluded Domingo Paredes.
