The JGL approves the tender for the maintenance contract for public lighting in the municipality of Torrevieja.

The Local Government Board, held this Friday morning, June 20, approved the specifications and tender for the public lighting maintenance contract for the municipality of Torrevieja. This contract includes the comprehensive management and maintenance of public lighting and exterior decorative lighting installations for municipal public buildings.
The Councilor for Public Lighting, Concha Sala, indicated that, among other things, this contract will aim to prevent electrical equipment failures, as well as the replacement and repair of installations, and also include preventive maintenance. It also includes remote management of all the municipality's electrical panels, aiming to improve the automation of switching on and off in synchronization with the sunrise and sunset. A new feature of this new contract is the inclusion of a quality criterion for service provision, which will focus primarily on current energy saving and efficiency policies.
The base tender price for the new contract is €872,147 (VAT included) per year. The projected duration is four years, with a one-year extension. Therefore, the investment over the next five years will amount to €4,360,739.
The deadline for submitting bids is thirty calendar days from the date of publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. All information is open and accessible within the Torrevieja City Council's contracting profile.
As an addendum to this contract, through other planned specifications, the City Council is immersed in energy management policies, progressively reducing consumption, and optimizing public lighting. Recently, a thousand public lighting points have been renovated, increasing an installed capacity of 250 kW to 73 kW.
