The Department of Education launches a free Digital Camp for children ages 9 to 13.

The Torrevieja City Council's Department of Education announces the launch of the Digital Camp, a free educational initiative for students aged 9 to 13. It will be held this summer with the aim of promoting young people's digital skills in a fun, safe, and responsible way.
A unique and free experience to learn technology
The Digital Camp will offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of technology through games, challenges, and hands-on activities tailored to their age and level. The program is taught by specialized educators and takes place in safe, well-equipped spaces to ensure learning and fun.
Dates: JULY 21-25
Hours: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Ages: 9 to 13 years.
Price: 100% free, thanks to institutional support and European funding.
Upon completion, participants will receive an official DigComp certificate, endorsed by the European Union, which certifies the digital skills they have acquired.
What will children be able to learn?
Children participating in this digital camp will be able to detect fake news and search for reliable information on the internet. They will set up their first email and create presentations and videos, protect their privacy and manage their digital footprint, reflect on cyberbullying and promote respect on social media, organize their digital time and discover healthy habits when using technology, as well as create their own video game, design audiovisual projects, and leverage artificial intelligence as a personal assistant. All this takes place in an environment of teamwork, creativity, and new friendships, where technology is experienced and enjoyed in a positive and responsible manner.

A commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities
The Digital Camp is promoted by the Cibervoluntarios Foundation as part of the Digital Skills for Children (CODI) Program, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU and the Ministry of Youth and Children. Its objective is to guarantee digital inclusion from childhood and prioritize those in vulnerable situations or at risk of social exclusion.
