Torrevieja City Council's Councilor for International Residents, Gitte Lund Thomsen, has presented the Spanish Courses for Foreigners, designed to improve both oral and written language skills. These courses will begin next October and are aimed at international residents registered in Torrevieja.

A total of six groups will be offered, each with approximately 15 students. Four groups will focus on beginners and two on intermediate levels. Each group will have 32 hours of training spread over eight weeks, with two-hour sessions per class. Class times are from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., and from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The requirements to participate in these courses are: being registered and an international resident of Torrevieja.

Registration will be open from next Monday, September 8th, until September 22nd. Those interested can register in person through the registry (PROP next to Torrevieja City Hall and at the La Mata Town Hall in Plaza Gaspar Perelló. Walk-ins are available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) or online through the electronic office with a digital signature at www.torrevieja.sedeelectronica.es .

The main objective of these courses is to provide participants with the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, both in everyday and professional situations. The courses cover beginner and intermediate levels, providing a solid linguistic foundation.

The service will be offered, as in January and February of this year, at the Be Magic academy, the winner of the contract, which is for three years (two plus a one-year extension), with the total contract value being €60,000 (€20,000 per year).

Finally, it's worth noting that these courses will not include official certification upon completion. Instead, their purpose is to provide the thousands of international residents who live in our city with the language skills they need to navigate their daily lives.
