ICONS OF THE PRESENT: LEIRE MARTÍNEZ, OMAR MONTES AND PTAZETA
Ptazeta, a festival institution since its first editions, and two of BIGSOUND's new crowd favorites after their debut in 2025, Leire Martínez and Omar Montes, return to the festival in 2026 for their Torrevieja date.
Three artists from different backgrounds and styles embody the diversity and vitality of contemporary Spanish music: an iconic voice embarking on a new solo career; an urban icon dominating the charts with her own charisma; and one of the leading figures of the Spanish-language urban genre, a symbol of authenticity and empowerment. Together, they represent the energy, evolution, and connection with the audience that define the spirit of BIGSOUND.
Leire Martínez , one of the most beloved voices of Spanish pop, begins a new solo career after 17 years at the helm of La Oreja de Van Gogh , a band with which she toured stages all over the world and created generational anthems such as Rosas , La playa and Jueves . Born in Rentería (Gipuzkoa), she has been recognized with the 40 Principales Award for Best New Artist and the Ondas Award for Best Song for La niña que llora en tus fiestas .
Her debut on the BIGSOUND stage marked the beginning of a period of creative and emotional maturity, in which she combines the nostalgia of her great classics with new compositions full of authenticity. So far in 2025, Leire has released the singles "Mi nombre" and "3 Deseos ," the latter being the second preview of her upcoming solo album. She has also joined the jury of Operación Triunfo and has published "Loco por ti ," her collaboration with Abraham Mateo, which confirms the versatility and relevance of an artist capable of continuing to reinvent herself without losing her essence. Her first performance in the province of Alicante after her return will be at BIGSOUND and is set to become one of the most special moments of this first edition.
At his side will be Omar Montes , an undisputed icon of Spanish urban music and one of the country's most charismatic and popular artists. His fusion of reggaeton, flamenco, and trap has allowed him to connect with audiences of all ages, turning him into a transversal phenomenon that transcends genres and styles. With hits like Alocao (with Bad Gyal), Como el agua (with Ana Mena), and Pegamos tela (with Abraham Mateo and Lérica), Montes has taken digital platforms and stages by storm across the country. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Saiko, Nicky Jam, RVFV, Lola Índigo, La Nueva Escuela, Camela, and Yotuel, establishing himself as one of the greatest icons of Spanish urban music. Winner of the Latin Music Italian Awards and nominated for the Odeón and LOS40 Music Awards , he has accumulated multiple gold and platinum certifications, in addition to millions of streams worldwide. With his signature energy and natural connection with the audience, Omar Montes will once again ignite the BIGSOUND stage with a show as unpredictable as it is irresistible.
From the Canary Islands, Ptazeta has established herself as one of the most powerful and recognizable voices on the Spanish urban scene. With her direct style, empowered lyrics, and overwhelming charisma, she has won over millions of listeners both at home and abroad. Her collaboration with Bizarrap on Cri-Criminal marked a turning point in her career, placing her at the forefront of the genre. With her album The Party en la Casa , she has demonstrated a versatility that takes her from trap to reggaeton and urban pop with complete ease, producing hits like Mami , Ponte Pal XXX , and Tiki Taka . Throughout her career, she has collaborated with artists such as Bizarrap, Villano Antillano, L-Gante, Lola Índigo, Lit Killah, Omar Montes, Juacko, Aitana, and Emilia, establishing herself as one of the most influential and versatile figures in Spanish urban music.
A magnetic and unfiltered artist, Ptazeta is also one of BIGSOUND's most veteran artists, having participated in several editions since the festival's inception, building a unique connection with the audience. Her return to BIGSOUND Torrevieja promises a new demonstration of the stage presence and connection she has earned from the festival's longstanding presence.
NEW GENERATION: MARC SEGUÍ AND PAULA KOOPS
The generational change of Spanish pop arrives at BIGSOUND Torrevieja with Marc Seguí and Paula Koops, two artists who embody the new wave of Spanish pop: fresh, emotional, relatable, and with international reach.
Marc Seguí , originally from Mallorca, has established himself as one of the most unique voices on the Spanish pop and urban scene thanks to his style that blends alternative pop, lo-fi, and emotional sensitivity. His big break came with Tiroteo (Remix) alongside Rauw Alejandro and Pol Granch, one of the most viral anthems of recent years. In 2025, he released his second album, No tengo prisa , an intimate and mature work that addresses themes such as love, heartbreak, and mental health, with collaborations with Soge Culebra, Álvaro Díaz, Rawayana, Antony Z, and Barry B. This new project reflects a clear artistic evolution: more introspective and emotional without losing the freshness that characterizes him and with millions of plays that demonstrate his genuine connection with the public.
At her side, Paula Koops represents the most promising present of Spanish pop. A Madrid-born composer and producer, she has conquered an entire generation with a fresh, unfiltered style that mixes pop, alternative rock and nostalgic nods to the 2000s. Her debut album Motel established her as one of the most interesting emerging artists of the new scene, with songs such as Línea 7 , Odio que te quiero , and Novio del año . In 2025, she continued her rise with singles such as Se ponen (I Was Supposed) and Pídeme perdón , in addition to signing, alongside Lucas Vidal, Ganar dos veces (Win Two Times) , the official song of the Spanish Paralympic Team for the Paris 2024 Games. With an increasingly recognizable style and a natural closeness to her audience, Koops is consolidating her position as one of the most promising voices of the new Spanish pop.
