The redevelopment project amounts to a total of 9,656,250 euros and includes the creation of a new 35,000 m2 green area in an area adjacent to the Natural Park, known as Punta de la Víbora.

The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has approved this morning the redevelopment project of Agreement C-2 “ Punta de la Víbora ” of the General Plan, more commonly known as Torreta III.

The councilor secretary of the JGL, Federico Alarcón, has reported that the redevelopment includes the renewal of the entire public road network of the sector, including the works of reform of sidewalks and paving of roads, as well as comprehensive renewal of the urban services of drinking water, sanitation, electricity and public lighting, with the total amount of the works amounting to a total of 9,656,250 euros.

In particular, the construction project includes the creation of a large new green area of 35,000 m2, adjacent to the Salinas de Torrevieja Natural Park, in which it is intended to establish a public facility that integrates perfectly with the unique environmental conditions of this area.

The Torrevieja City Council reports that the project will also include an additional proposal to rehabilitate the building originally planned for the Mud Baths, so that it can be repurposed for uses compatible with a future viewpoint overlooking the salt lagoon. This proposal will require final approval from the Directorate General of Coasts of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, as well as from the Directorate of Natural Environment Management of the General Directorate of the Natural Environment.

The work on the green area is the first phase that the Torrevieja council intends to carry out in the entire project, so the project will be sent to the Valencian Regional Government and the Ministry for Ecological Transition, which will also include the proposal for the rehabilitation of the Mud Spa building, in order to obtain the sector reports as soon as possible and be able to put the works out to tender during the first half of 2026.
