The councillor secretary of the Local Governing Board (JGL) of the Torrevieja City Council, Federico Alarcón, announced this morning the award, through a simplified open procedure, of the contract for the expansion works of the Torrevieja cemetery, consisting of the construction of new niches , to the company TRISACOR INFRAESTRUCTURAS Y SERVICIOS, SL , for a contract price of 253,493.79 euros (VAT included) and with an increase in the warranty period of the work of 15 full months .

The contract will last for 5 months, beginning after the signing of the Site Survey Report. Furthermore, the Councillor for Cemeteries, Sandra Sánchez, explained that, given the type of building and the work to be carried out, an appropriate warranty period of 1 year is estimated, starting from the date of the signing of the Acceptance Certificate.

This contract involves the construction of 4 blocks for the location of 296 new niches in the municipal cemetery of Torrevieja.

Sandra Sánchez recalled that in 2022 the construction of 460 niches was completed, of which around 150 remain unoccupied, and therefore the need to expand the number of niches again is created.

The works are planned on the current plot of the Torrevieja Municipal Cemetery and consist of the construction of 4 niche pavilions in the Poniente cemetery for a total of 296 niches , including the redevelopment of the areas affected by the action.

BLOCK 1: A pavilion with 68 niches will be built.

BLOCK 2: A pavilion with 68 niches will be built.

BLOCK 3: An 80-niche pavilion will be built.

BLOCK 4: An 80-niche pavilion will be built.

Finally, the councilor in charge of cemeteries, Sandra Sánchez, announced that the green areas affected by the project will be landscaped and the monument to the brotherhood, currently located in one of the areas slated for the construction of the new burial plots, will be relocated. The affected trees will also be transplanted to another location within the cemetery grounds.
