Torrevieja celebrates the presentation of the 2026 Golden Fork awards and other distinctions from the AEHTC

José Ignacio Pastor Pérez, president of the AEHTC, opened the event by announcing that the awards had been given to the following winners:

• COMPANY RECOGNITION PLAQUE 2026 – MAKRO
  Awarded to a company that maintains direct ties with the hospitality industry, supporting our members and actively collaborating with the AEHTC in all its activities. In recent years, Makro has established itself as a pillar of support for the local hospitality sector.
• HONORARY MEMBER 2026 – TOMÁS A. ARENAS MERCADER
  This award was created to publicly recognize members who, due to their prestige and significant contributions to the Association's development, are deserving of this distinction . This year is especially significant, as his establishment celebrates 50 years in business , and Tomás has served as president on previous boards , consistently demonstrating an exemplary commitment to the hospitality industry in Torrevieja.
• CHEF OF THE YEAR 2026 (2025 period) – ÁNGEL GONZÁLEZ MARTOS
  This award recognizes the chef who has stood out most for their talent, creativity, and innovation in the kitchen. It is given to those who have had a significant impact on gastronomy, whether through their work, influence, or contribution to the sector.
• SILVER TRAY 2026 – MINI GOLF “LAS SALINAS”
  This award is given to member hospitality establishments that have distinguished themselves through their track record and excellent service . Mini Golf “Las Salinas” is an iconic venue in Torrevieja , celebrating its 40th anniversary this year , and is a popular family meeting place for leisure activities in our city .
• HOSPITALITY 2026 – TORREJOVEN HOTEL
  This award recognizes and distinguishes the hotel's contribution to the tourism development of the Vega Baja region. Hotel Torrejoven is one of the oldest hotels in the area, maintaining high-quality service and a strong commitment to local tourism.
