The Torrevieja City Council continues to work in coordination with the private sector to promote initiatives that strengthen the city's position in the main national and international tourist markets.

The Torrevieja City Council continues to advance its strategy to strengthen the tourism sector and diversify the municipality's accommodation options. In this context, the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, held several working meetings with leading companies in the hotel sector during the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (FITUR), with the aim of promoting new projects that will expand and modernize the city's hotel capacity.

These sector meetings have been aimed at attracting investment, promoting the development of new hotel establishments and improving the quality of the existing offer, consolidating Torrevieja as a competitive, sustainable tourist destination adapted to the new demands of the market.

Among the meetings held, the one with representatives of GRUPO HOTUSA and GRUPO MASA stands out. This meeting addressed the possibility of developing a new hotel in the future port area of Torrevieja, a strategic location that will strengthen the connection between the city and its waterfront, as well as add significant value to the municipality's tourism offerings.

The mayor also held a working meeting with Javier Vallés, CEO of the SH HOTELES Group, a company that already has a building permit to carry out the complete renovation and upgrade of two historic hotels located in the northern coastal area of the municipality. Specifically, these are the Lloyds Club Hotel (La Mata beach) and the Masa Internacional Hotel (Torre del Moro), whose renovation will represent a clear commitment to modernization, improved services, and enhanced tourism quality in this area of the municipality.

In connection with this push for hotel development, this morning the Local Governing Board granted a license and authorization for the start of demolition work on the buildings located at Paseo de la Libertad, numbers 4 and 5. The construction of a 4-star Superior hotel is planned for this site in the future port area of Torrevieja, as previously mentioned. This project has the corresponding urban planning compatibility certificate and will significantly contribute to increasing the supply of quality hotels in the city center of Torrevieja.

Mayor Eduardo Dolón emphasized that “these actions are the result of the ongoing work by the City Council to build investor confidence, facilitate the development of strategic projects, and move towards a more balanced, less seasonal, and higher value-added tourism model.” He also stressed that the increase in hotel capacity will directly contribute to job creation, economic growth, and an improved image of Torrevieja as a year-round tourist destination.

The Torrevieja City Council continues to work in coordination with the private sector to promote initiatives that strengthen the city's position in the main national and international tourist markets, committed to orderly, sustainable growth aligned with the urban and economic development of the municipality.
