The City Council launches the training program "Family Conversations I" to strengthen prevention and family well-being
The Councillor for Public Health of the Torrevieja City Council, Rosa Cañón, reports that the Community Prevention Unit for Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA) is launching the program “Conversations in the Family I”, a series of training talks aimed at mothers, fathers, families and educators of the municipality.
This new municipal initiative will take place between March and June at the Palacio de la Música, with free admission until capacity is reached. The main objective is to offer families practical tools that will allow them to face some of the main educational and social challenges of today.
The program will address topics of special interest such as setting limits and rules in the family environment, cybersecurity and parental control, communication in the family environment in relation to friendships and social pressure, as well as the prevention of vaping, tobacco and snuff use.
The program includes the following schedule of events:
- March 11 | 7:30 p.m.
- Limits and rules in the family
- April 20 | 6:30 p.m.
- Cybersecurity and parental control
- May 11 | 6:30 p.m.
- Family communication: friendships and social pressure
- June 22 | 6:30 p.m.
- Vapes, tobacco and snuff
The sessions will be held in the afternoon (6:30 p.m. / 7:30 p.m.) and will be led by professionals specializing in prevention and education, creating a space for dialogue, reflection, and shared learning. This initiative aims to strengthen parenting skills and promote healthy family environments that act as a protective factor against risky behaviors.
Rosa Cañón states that, with these initiatives, the Torrevieja City Council continues to support preventive and educational actions that promote healthy lifestyle habits and positive family life, consolidating its commitment to public health and the well-being of citizens.
