Local police have established alternative routes and temporarily relocated school bus stops to ensure safety and traffic flow.

The Torrevieja Local Police have announced the closure of Ramón Gallud Street to traffic starting next Monday, February 23, due to ongoing drainage works on this main city thoroughfare. These road closures will remain in effect until before Easter.

With the aim of ensuring road safety and minimizing traffic disruptions, the following traffic signaling and regulation measures have been adopted:

  • At the intersection of Ramón Gallud Street and Orihuela Street, permanent illuminated "Street closed" signs have been installed, as well as a sign prohibiting access for vehicles over 3,500 kg.
  • At the intersections of Ramón Gallud Street with Azorín Street, and of Azorín Street with Paseo Vistalegre, information signs have been placed with alternative detours via Paseos, Puerto and Salida Ciudad.
  • Left turns are permitted from Azorín Street towards Paseo Vistalegre, with a specific merging lane enabled to facilitate traffic flow and avoid traffic jams.
  • At the intersection of Joaquín Chapaprieta Street and Ramón Gallud Street, temporary detour signage has been installed towards the northern part of the city.

Also, due to this closure, school bus stops will be temporarily relocated to the following locations:

  • Section between Orihuela Street and Patricio Zammit Street.
  • Paseo de la Libertad, opposite Plaza Waldo Calero (usual location of the tourist train).
  • Intersection of Ramón y Cajal street with Gumersindo street, designated as a school and regular bus stop.

Local police recommend that drivers respect the temporary signage, use the established alternative routes and exercise extreme caution in the area affected by the works.
