Antonia Martínez Rubio, winner of the "Woman 2025" award

The award will be presented on Sunday, March 8, at 12:00 noon, at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, during the Gala held to commemorate International Women's Day.

At a meeting held this morning, Friday, February 23, at the Torrevieja City Hall, chaired by the mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolón, and with the participation of Rosario Martínez Chazarra, deputy mayor, Inmaculada Montesinos, councilor for Women-Equality, along with the convened jury and the technician from the City Hall's Equality Unit, the WOMAN 2026 award was chosen on the occasion of the celebration on March 8 of "International Women's Day".

Having read all the proposals received by the Department of Equality, the following decision has been unanimously made:

Award the WOMAN PRIZE 2026 to Antonia Martínez Rubio (1938), from the Hotel Cano, in recognition of her long personal, social and professional career, being a person highly appreciated by the population of Torrevieja.

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 8, at 12:00 noon, at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, during the Gala held to commemorate International Women's Day, with free admission until capacity is reached.
