Comarcon celebrates its 12th edition, consolidating its alternative leisure offering and commemorating a decade at the "Tavi y Carmona" Sports Palace
The Torrevieja City Council's Youth Department, the La Comarca Alternative Leisure Association, and the University of Alicante announce the 12th edition of ComarCON, the region's leading event for geek culture and alternative leisure. The event will take place on Saturday, April 11 (from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM) and Sunday, April 12 (from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM).
This year the convention is celebrating twice over, as in addition to reaching its twelfth edition, it commemorates 10 years since the event moved to the "Tavi y Carmona" Sports Palace, its current location, after its beginnings in the Municipal Leisure Centre.
True to its philosophy from day one, ComarCON will maintain its completely free and open admission for all ages, aiming to offer a safe, fun, and accessible space to enjoy with family and friends. Regarding attendance expectations, the organizers are not aiming to break records, but rather to consolidate their main objective: to bring alternative leisure activities to as many people as possible and, at the very least, match the excellent reception of last year's event.
A NEW OFFICIAL APP
This year's 2026 program is packed with non-stop activities. Among the most anticipated moments are the Cosplay Contest, which will fill the main stage with creativity and talent on Saturday afternoon, and the vibrant K-Pop Dance Championship, which will get everyone dancing on Sunday morning. The festival will also feature a touch of humor and tradition with the now-famous "Hobbit Glutton" contest.
The event will also feature top-level guests from the creative and digital scene, including figures such as Manu Partida and the renowned illustrator Shaun Elay, who will share their work and experiences with attendees.
To enhance the visitor experience, the 12th ComarCON is launching its own mobile app, developed entirely by a member of the organization's staff. Available for download on Google Play and optimized for iPhone users, the app will allow visitors to carry the complete schedule in their pocket, receive real-time notifications, and not miss any of their favorite activities.
With the entire team finalizing the details, the Sports Palace will open its doors so that Torrevieja can once again become the home of those seeking a different kind of weekend, where alternative leisure is experienced as an unstoppable, diverse movement created by and for the fans.
