On Friday, La Cuarta Cuerda will perform, one of the most promising groups in the current flamenco-pop and rumba scene, with over 212,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 101,800 monthly listeners on Spotify. On Saturday, it will be the turn of Raya Evolution, a group made up of members of Raya Real, a leading group with a long and distinguished career in rumba and Andalusian festive music.

Torrevieja will celebrate a new edition of the May Fair from Thursday, May 7th to Sunday, May 10th, one of the most important events on the local festive calendar and one of the most popular and crowded celebrations in the province of Alicante.

The Antonio Soria Park will once again host for four days an event that combines tradition, music, dance, festive atmosphere and gastronomy, bringing together thousands of people every spring around one of the most representative festivals of the municipality.

Declared a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest, the May Fair of Torrevieja has become one of the most recognized spring celebrations on the Costa Blanca, standing out for its ability to attract, its popular roots and its tourist projection.

The poster for this year's event features an elegant and contemporary design, with a composition in shades of blue and violet and a female figure dressed in traditional Andalusian attire. The visual concept blends tradition and modernity, reflecting the festive atmosphere and essence of an event that has become a firmly established part of Torrevieja's spring celebrations.

This year, the fairgrounds will feature 13 participating organizations, which will operate a total of 15 booths, transforming the May Fair into a vibrant space for community and gathering. The municipal booth, as in previous years, will benefit Alimentos Solidarios (Food Solidarity) and will have its own program of events, which can be found on the Torrevieja City Council's social media channels.

Likewise, the fairgrounds will once again feature Punto Violeta this year, a space for information, awareness and support to continue advancing towards safe, equal and free festivities free from any type of gender violence.

This year's program will once again showcase the talent of Torrevieja's dance academies and schools, key players in the May Fair and an essential part of its identity. Mery Dance Academy, the Torrevieja Municipal Dance School, Soul Dance, Paya's Dance School, QK Dance Academy, and Ángela Esteban Dance School will take to the main stage to demonstrate the work, dedication, and artistic potential of local talent, transforming the fair into a grand showcase of the level and vibrancy of dance in the city.

The opening ceremony will feature a performance of the Torrevieja anthem by the UMT band and will conclude with a fireworks display, marking the start of four days of celebrations. During the opening ceremony, the City Council will pay tribute to the State Security Forces for their ongoing service to the public and for their work in ensuring everyone's safety, especially at large events such as the May Fair.

Alongside the participation of local academies, the program includes outstanding musical performances that will enhance the appeal of this edition. On Friday, La Cuarta Cuerda will take the stage, one of the most promising emerging groups in the current flamenco-pop and rumba scene, with over 212,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 101,800 monthly listeners on Spotify, in addition to a repertoire full of rhythm that particularly resonates with young audiences.

Saturday will feature Raya Evolution, a group comprised of members of Raya Real, a renowned and highly acclaimed band with a long and distinguished career in rumba and Andalusian festive music, a staple on stages and at celebrations throughout Spain for decades. Their performance will allow audiences to relive some of the most well-known and celebrated songs of several generations. In addition, there will be a traditional Rocío Mass, a parade of horsemen and carriages, a horse show, and the final of the Copla Competition organized by the Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti,” completing a varied program designed for all ages.
