The Torrevieja City Council has put out to tender the works to adapt the municipal building located on Tritón Street, a project that will allow the old building to be converted into the future Multipurpose House of Associations, also known as the Hotel of Associations, one of the actions committed by the Government team to continue strengthening the associative fabric of the municipality.

The base budget for the tender of the works amounts to 256,086.63 euros, an investment that will allow the launch of a modern facility for the Torrevieja association movement and that will contribute to strengthening citizen participation, volunteering and the work carried out daily by dozens of social entities for the benefit of the city.

A MEETING SPACE FOR THE ASSOCIATIVE MOVEMENT OF TORREVIEJA

The future Multipurpose House for Associations is conceived as a shared building in which associations registered in the Municipal Register belonging to the councils of Citizen Participation, NGOs and Volunteering, Senior Citizens and Immigration will develop their activity, providing these groups with suitable facilities for meetings, training, user care and organization of activities.

With this project, the City Council is responding to a demand made for years by numerous associations in the city, which will have for the first time specific facilities designed to facilitate their daily operations and enhance joint work between entities.

The project includes the comprehensive adaptation of the municipal building, formerly used for religious purposes, through an interior reorganization of the spaces, the installation of a new air conditioning system, the improvement of health and functionality conditions and all the necessary actions to obtain the corresponding activity license as an administrative building intended for offices and shared use spaces.

The project will respect the existing structure of the building, without modifying its exterior configuration, focusing on the redistribution of the interior rooms, the partial renovation of the electrical installations, the compartmentalization of new spaces, the improvement of accessibility and the adaptation of the property to all current regulations regarding safety, evacuation, fire protection, universal accessibility, efficiency and functionality.

MORE THAN 1,280 SQUARE METERS FOR ASSOCIATIONS AND MUNICIPAL SERVICES

The building will have an area of approximately 1,300 square meters , distributed over two floors, in addition to a garage in the basement that will be used as a logistics center for the municipal Parks and Gardens team.

The new layout will allow for:

A large multipurpose room of 277 square meters, intended for meetings, conferences, training and large-format activities.

Six main rooms distributed between the ground floor and the first floor, with areas close to 60 square meters, which can be used by the different associations.

Other complementary facilities, offices, warehouse, distributors and toilets, including facilities adapted for people with reduced mobility

The project anticipates an approximate capacity of 98 people, guaranteeing evacuation routes, signage and safety measures fully adapted to current regulations.

ACCESSIBILITY, SAFETY AND SUSTAINABILITY AS THE PROJECT'S KEY AREAS

The building's adaptation has been designed to guarantee universal accessibility, facilitating the use of the building by any person, as well as optimal conditions of safety, comfort and habitability.

The planned actions include improving the air conditioning, partitioning spaces with new interior divisions, upgrading the electrical installation in the renovated areas, renewing finishes, installing false ceilings, and reorganizing interior spaces to optimize their operation while maintaining the building's original structure.

Furthermore, the project incorporates all the requirements of the Technical Building Code regarding accessibility, fire protection, safety of use, health, protection against noise and energy efficiency.
