The City Council opens tomorrow the application period for the €450 grants for births or adoptions

The Councillor for Social Welfare, Family, Coexistence and Integration of the Torrevieja City Council, Óscar Urtasun, reports that today, Wednesday, July 22, the extract of the municipal call for birth and adoption aid corresponding to the year 2026 has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOP).

The application period will begin tomorrow, Thursday, July 23, and will remain open until Wednesday, September 2, inclusive. The benefit amount will be 450 euros for each child born or adopted.

The program is open to births occurring between January 1 and December 31, 2025, as well as adoptions finalized during that same period. In cases of multiple births, a grant of €450 may be requested and received for each child born.

BENEFICIARIES AND REQUIREMENTS

These grants can be requested by married couples, civil partners and single-parent families or holders of the family book or who have the corresponding birth certificate.

The main requirements established include:

-Being Spanish or a foreigner with legal residence in Spain and, in the latter case, having a NIE.

-Be over 18 years of age or a legally emancipated minor.

-Be registered as a resident in Torrevieja and have a minimum seniority of three uninterrupted years immediately prior to the date of submission of the application.

-That the newborn has been registered for the first time in Torrevieja and at the same address as the beneficiary.

-Be the holder of a bank account where the aid will be deposited.

-Be up to date with obligations to the Tax Office, Social Security and the Torrevieja City Council.

In cases of annulment, separation, or divorce, the beneficiary will be the parent who has been granted custody of the child. In cases of joint custody, the aid will be divided equally between both parents. Only one of the two parents or adoptive parents may be a beneficiary for the same child, either on their own behalf or on behalf of the household.

Parents who have been totally or partially deprived of parental authority and those whose children are under the guardianship of a public institution will not be eligible to apply.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Applications may preferably be processed through the Electronic Office of the Torrevieja City Council, using the specific procedure called "Application for birth assistance", completing the form and attaching the required documentation.

The forms will also be available at the Social Welfare Department for submission to the Registry Office (PROP).

The application must be accompanied by the following documentation:

- Valid ID card or residence permit of the applicant.

-Birth certificate issued by the Civil Registry or adoption resolution.

-Certificate of ownership of the bank account where the deposit will be made.

-Certificate of registration of the beneficiaries that includes the newborn, when its consultation is not expressly authorized.

-Declaration of responsibility regarding compliance with tax and social security obligations.

-Regulatory agreement or court judgment of annulment, separation or divorce, when applicable.

Data relating to the municipal register and compliance with obligations to the City Council will be verified ex officio by the municipal administration.

The aid will be granted upon compliance with the established requirements and strictly following the order in which applications are received, until the allocated budget credit is exhausted.
