Parking will be permitted all day, except between 8:00 p.m. and midnight, during which time it will be prohibited to facilitate traffic flow during peak access hours to the city center.

The Local Police Department of Torrevieja City Council informs that, starting next Monday, August 3, vehicle parking will again be permitted on Ramón Gallud street.

However, parking will remain prohibited daily between 8:00 p.m. and midnight, with the aim of promoting traffic flow and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic on this central and busy road during peak hours and access to the city center.

Thus, citizens will be able to park their vehicles on this section of Ramón Gallud street from 00:00 to 20:00, while they must remove the vehicles before the start of the prohibition period, established between 20:00 and 24:00.

THE CORRECT FUNCTIONING OF URBAN TRANSPORT FREQUENCIES HAS BEEN VERIFIED

This modification is adopted after the Transport and Local Police departments have monitored the operation of the new urban public transport service during this month of July.

The checks carried out have provided the necessary information on the frequencies and travel times of city buses. This allows for the regular passage of buses and the circulation of other vehicles while also recovering parking spaces for most of the day.

The restriction between 8:00 p.m. and midnight will remain in place to avoid traffic jams and facilitate transit during a time period when there is a high concentration of traffic towards the center of Torrevieja, especially during the summer season.

A MEASURE THAT WILL BE EVALUATED AFTER THE SUMMER

Once the summer season is over, the Torrevieja City Council will analyze the effectiveness of this measure with the information obtained and will study the different alternatives for the final configuration of Ramón Gallud Street.

Among the options that will be considered are the implementation of a bus lane along the entire road, the creation of regulated parking spaces in the blue zone, or the maintenance of the system that will begin to be applied next Monday, August 3.

The Local Police Department requests drivers to pay special attention to the installed signage and strictly respect the prohibition hours, reminding them that vehicles must leave the section between Orihuela and Apolo streets before 8:00 p.m.
