In recent weeks, pruning, mowing, clearing, shaping, trimming, cleaning and general maintenance work has been carried out on the vegetation of the schools in Torrevieja.

The Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of Parks and Gardens, has carried out a special campaign in recent weeks to prepare the green areas and spaces of the municipality's public schools for the upcoming start of the new school year.

This is the second consecutive year that these spaces, which are becoming increasingly important within schools, have been maintained. This program has been made possible thanks to the current municipal contract for the maintenance of green areas. This specific campaign, carried out in preparation for the start of the school year, has involved reinforcing the regular maintenance work already performed in these areas over the past few weeks.

The councillor responsible for green areas, Concha Sala, has indicated that the objective has been to carry out a broader and more thorough action to ensure the good condition of the green areas before the return of students, teachers and staff to the centers.

The work has been progressing gradually in the different public schools of Torrevieja, as well as in the Adult Education Centre (FPA), taking into account the specific characteristics and needs of each space.

The work being carried out includes pruning, mowing, clearing, shaping, trimming, cleaning, and general maintenance of vegetation. Teams are working on trees, hedges, landscaped areas, and all other plants present at the schools.

In addition, special attention is paid to patios, access points, enclosures, passageways and commonly used outdoor spaces, carrying out a general review of the vegetation and acting on those points that require more specific intervention after the summer months.

Although the maintenance of green areas in educational centers is carried out throughout the year, this campaign allows for reinforcing the work during the weeks prior to the return to school, carrying out a more complete preparation of the outdoor spaces before the start of the new school year.
