Torrevieja City Council strengthens the reception and participation of migrants with the new "Pangea Integra" program

The Department of Social Welfare of the Torrevieja City Council, through the Pangea Office for Attention to Migrant People, is launching “Pangea Integra” during the next month of October, a new initiative aimed at facilitating the reception, guidance and active participation of migrant people residing in the municipality.

The program will take place every Tuesday in October (October 6, 13, 20 and 27) through four practical and participatory days that will combine information, activities, knowledge of the environment and spaces for dialogue and coexistence.

“Pangea Integra” was created as a close-knit meeting and learning space that will allow its participants to get to know Torrevieja better, find their way around the municipality, access available resources and discover different ways to be part of the city's social and community life.

FOUR SESSIONS TO LEARN ABOUT, DISCOVER AND PARTICIPATE IN TORREVIEJA

The first session, on October 6, “Get to know the resources of Torrevieja”, will be dedicated to presenting the main services, resources and care spaces existing in the municipality that may be useful for migrants.

During this event, practical information will be provided to answer questions and facilitate access to different services and support channels. The Integration Guide, prepared by the Pangea Office, will also be presented, containing useful information on resources, services, and procedures.

The second session, on October 13th, entitled “Life in Torrevieja,” will introduce participants to the customs, traditions, and key cultural aspects that form part of Torrevieja's identity. It will also provide information on opportunities to participate in activities, associations, community spaces, and initiatives, fostering connections and a sense of belonging to the city.

The third day, October 20th, entitled “Discover Torrevieja,” will have a different focus and will consist of a cultural tour of the city. Participants will visit various representative sites and spaces and will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the history, heritage, culture, and traditions of Torrevieja.

Finally, the fourth session, on October 27, “Sharing Our Experiences,” will be dedicated to meeting and exchanging experiences among people from different backgrounds. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the process of adapting to a new city, learn about different stories, and create spaces for dialogue.

This final day will mark the closing of “Pangea Integra” and will include the presentation of participation diplomas to those who have been part of the program.

CLOSE AND PERSONALIZED ATTENTION

In addition to group activities, the various sessions will help identify situations where more personalized attention may be needed. When a specific need is identified or an individual requests support, the Pangea Office can schedule an appointment to provide targeted guidance.

This initiative aims to help migrants become more independent, learn about and access available resources, and actively participate in the community, while also creating spaces for interaction among people who are part of the social and cultural diversity of Torrevieja.

LIMITED REGISTRATION AND PLACES

“Pangea Integra” is aimed at migrants residing in Torrevieja, regardless of how long they have been living in the municipality and their administrative status.
