The Plaza de la Constitución is adorned with flowers and the flags of the Valencian Community and Spain.
The Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of Parks and Gardens, headed by Concha Sala, has carried out a special maintenance and floral decoration action in the Plaza de la Constitución on the occasion of the celebrations of October 9, Day of the Valencian Community, and October 12, National Day of Spain.
The intervention's main element is the planting of kalanchoes in the four flowerbeds of the square, following a design created for both commemorations. Through the combination of flowers of different colors, two of the flowerbeds recreate the flag of the Valencian Community, while the other two reproduce the colors of the Spanish flag. This floral arrangement allows the landscaped areas to be incorporated into the ambiance of the official celebrations, in one of Torrevieja's most emblematic spaces.
Constitution Square is a popular meeting place for residents and visitors and hosts many of the events organized for these important holidays. The work has also extended to the planters leading to the Archpriest Church of the Immaculate Conception, located in the square itself. Kalanchoe plants have been planted in these planters, continuing the landscaping of the flowerbeds and completing the beautification of the surrounding area.
In addition to these plantings, the Parks and Gardens Department has carried out pruning, trimming, cleaning, and maintenance of the vegetation, along with the necessary work for the upkeep of the flowerbeds and green areas of the square. This work complements the ongoing maintenance carried out by the Department in this space and combines routine conservation tasks with special decorations for Valencian Community Day and Spain's National Day.
